Gonna make me sweat-ah... in the Hot Tub

The next time you want to watch a Wizards game and still enjoy the great outdoors, I suggest that you hang a white sheet over your window, use a hi-def projector to shoot a reversed image onto the sheet, and then go outside into a hot tub in order to watch the game from outside. It worked quite well.

My eyes are going crazy. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

I guess I am now officially a “real whack-job.” At least according to Chris Matthews. I was watching a tivo'd Hardball a couple nights ago, and Matthews kept professing his love for the President, even saying at one point:

Everybody sort of likes the president, except for the real whack-jobs.”

Wow....everybody?? I guess I have been looking at the wrong polls from every single news organization. I was a little taken aback by this statement, and it looks like some other sites have picked up on my feelings. Oh well, at least this cements my position in the whack-job camp.

Here I was thinking that after the Katrina debacle, the Michael Brown/cronyism misadventures, the bid to kill social security and roll back beneficial social programs, the misleading of a nation into a war or at least stumbling into war and screwing up the post-war effort, the failure to get Osama, the Harriet Miers brouhaha, the plan to kill the estate tax and lower taxes WHILE pursuing a misguided war, the homophobic attacks on those who are not like him, the horrible bankruptcy bill, the assault on beneficial stem cell research, and the general direction of this horrible administration, that others would also not “kinda like” the President, but I guess it is I who is the real whack-job.

My Best Albums of 2005 (Bloggers and rocksnobs edition)

At the specific request of RockstarJoe I have compiled my list of my favorite albums of 2005. I gotta say this process is a million times easier when you have an ipod that can arrange albums by their release date, and you simply select your favorites.

If you do not like indie-rock or altCountry then you may look at this list and wonder what the fuck am I talking about. But for those of you (RSJ, SCG, etc.) who are down with this stuff, you will know what is what. Maybe later in the week I will make a list of top 10 albums of 2005 that people other than bloggers and rock-nerds would enjoy.

Anyway, here is the hastily compiled list. My Best of 2005:

1. I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning - Bright Eyes
2. Jacksonville City Nights - Ryan Adams & the Cardinals
3. Late Registration - Kanye West
4. Nashville - Josh Rouse
5. Transistor Radio - M. Ward
6. Songs for Silverman - Ben Folds
7. Cold Roses - Ryan Adams
8. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
9. Okemah and the Melody of Riot - Son Volt
10. Plans - Death Cab For Cutie
11. Z - My Morning Jacket
12. Discover a Lovelier You - Pernice Brothers
13. Wedding Crashers - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
14. Gimme Fiction - Spoon
15. Digital Ash in a Digital Urn - Bright Eyes

Finally an update....kinda

Ok, I realize I haven’t updated this site in forever. I have been super busy at work and haven’t had any hours to pour into blogging. I do, however, continue to scour the internets and I don’t want this blizzog to die. Therefore, in order to keep the blog alive I will be sacrificing big quality posts for a large amount of mini-posts. The redonkulousness will no longer be as redonkulous, but I will make an effort to put SOMETHING here just about every day so that you keep checking back. So now its quantity over quality. Oh and if you thought the blog was pretty weak and without quality before, then these short posts will probably make it better for you, with less crap to read.
